April Nail Drop

April Nail Drop

I’ve always thought that Easter is a defining turning point for so many of us, that realisation and joyful acceptance that Spring has sprung.

Flowers, tree blossom, the short but wonderful magnificence of the magnolia tree, light evening, warmer days, oh wow I’m getting a little heady.

In the fashion world things are also starting to hot up but perhaps this year the designers are playing it safe. Ostentatious design, conspicuous labels and any other unnecessary over the top accoutrements are frowned upon in April 2024.

Rather the trend is to work with what’s already been around in 2023 and just make it that little bit special with combinations and colour.

So oversized jackets, wide leg high waisted trousers and jeans, white dresses and bold florals are still in there and it would be wise to check out what you have before splashing the cash.

Because what you will need is an oversize tote bag. Leather, pleather, metallic (still making a shiny point) woven, canvas, material. It doesn’t really matter but the size of a small suitcase is the look you are going for. And what of colour?

Well as you would expect MeAmora has once again come up trumps in the nail shades that most compliment this month and we have for you Chill Day, Spring Purple and Honeydew.

So let’s start right there. Blue is big news, pale blue is bigger news and blue floral is the zenith.

So Honeydew has somewhat dropped the mic. This beautiful take on a pale blue tipped French mani in the every popular squoval shape with stunning blue and white floral accents is the stuff dreams are made of. You can wear this mani with pride knowing you are right up there with the colour trend setters. This from Natalie Munro, Who What Wear UK news writer.

“Like a breath of fresh air, this breezy shade offers a much-needed dose of serenity to the spring/summer palette. Fresh and calm, the soft shade injects a youthful edge that can make your styling feel both spirited and sophisticated. On the runways, Alberta Ferretti and Versace favoured monochrome looks, whilst Stella McCartney and Proenza Schouler wove light creams and whites into their cool-blue styling that I just can’t get enough of.”

Next off the page jumps Chill Day. This is one of the most gorgeous manis I’ve seen from MeAmora. No less that four accent nails in the pack with one of those being full on glitter in a pinky, bronze shade in squoval. The main story here is animal print but oh so classy. A gorgeous light latte colour with a double mini strip of glitter encasing a fabulous animal print in a deeper brown. It’s sensational.

And finally in a true nod to spring and paying homage to the sea of crocuses we see adoring our parks, gardens and outdoor spaces we have Spring Purple. What a glorious way to discover more joy from our Medium Squoval shape in this stunning colour.

It pairs with greys, whites, navies and black and there’s no denying that it is a dressy colour. Team with a deep brown and you have a match made in heaven. Wide leg jeans, a white shirt, brown leather jacket and Spring Purple and you are wear it’s at. (Did you see what I did there?!)
